MGC Structure
TUM Medical Graduate Center (MGC) is a Faculty Graduate Center of TUM Graduate School (TUM-GS). The following four programs are offered by MGC:
All doctoral candidates are members of one of these programs. To organize the programs and MGC in general, every program has a program committee. In addition, the MGC is run by the overarching managing board.
The program committees of the respective program decide on current plans, topics and issues of the program. All graduate programs are also represented in the MGC managing board where concerns of a more general nature will be discussed.
Members of the MGC managing board are the speaker of MGC (Vice Dean for promotion of young scientists), the directors of the respective programs Medical Life Science and Technology, Experimental Medicine, Translational Medicine and the officer for doctoral thesis for Dr. med. and Dr. med. dent. Also members in the managing board are at least one representative of the locations rechts der Isar, Biederstein and German Heart Center Munich as well as a representative of the doctoral candidates (with deputy), the managing director of MGC and the Director of TUM MEC.
The program committee Experimental Medicine consists of the director of the program, three more professors of TUM School of Medicine as well as three professors of scientific departments of TUM and one representative of the doctoral candidates.
The program committee Translational Medicine consists of the director of the program as well as seven more professors of TUM School of Medicine and one representative of the doctoral candidates.
The program committee Medical Program consists of the Officer for doctoral thesis for Dr. med. and Dr. med. dent., the Vice Dean for promotion of young scientists, the Dean of studies, the managing director of MGC and one representative of the doctoral candidates.
The PhD executive committee consists of twelve professors of TUM School of Medicine, two student representatives, the Dean and the managing director of the program.
